Robert Guy Shriver

Robert Guy Shriver, 90, of Kennedy Drive died at 4:07 p.m. Thursday, November
23, 2006, at Sunnyview Home.

Born December 29, 1915, in Harmony, he was the son of Robert Elliot and Emma
Rebecca (Taylor) Shriver.

He was a member of the second graduating class of Worthington High School in
1934.

Mr. Shriver was the owner/operator of the Shriver Bus Co. from 1946 to 1968. He
was a member of the North Main Street Church of God.

Mr. Shriver served in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945.
He was a graduate of Clarion State Teachers College in 1940, earned his master's
from the University of Pittsburgh in 1948, and attended Duquesne University. 

He was a school teacher, teaching science and math in Rural Valley, Shaler, and
Butler from 1940 to 1954.

He was a charter member and past president of the Worthington Lions Club. He was
a former board member of the Worthington School District.

Mr. Shriver is survived by two sons, Robert E. and Kenneth E. Shriver, both of
Sigel; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Harvey
Shriver of Flagger Beach, Fla.

Mr. Shriver was preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. Shriver, and by a
brother, James.

Funeral services will be private for Robert G. Shriver, who died Thursday, Nov.
23, 2006. 

Entombment will follow in Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park,
Butler, Pa.
