Walter John Bowser

Walter John "Johnny" Bowser, 83, of Kittanning RD4, died Wednesday, August 3,
1999 in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.

He was born August 10, 1915 in West Franklin Township to Daniel and Della
(Miller) Bowser.

He was a 1934 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

Mr. Bowser was a lifetime dairy farmer. He was also an insurance agent for
Armstrong County Mutual Fire Insurance Co. as well as working for the Armstrong
County Department of Weights and Measures.

He was a member of Franklin Union Baptist Church, Worthington.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie (Reesman) Bowser, whom he married on
March 27, 1942; three sons, Larry B. Bowser and Dennis D. Bowser, both of
Kittanning RD 4 and Rex A. Bowser of Schnecksville; a daughter, Mrs. William
(Linda) Reed of Worthington; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a
brother Earl Bowser of Kittanning; and four sisters, Mrs. Roy E (Martha) Bowser
of Kittanning RD3, Alene Reed of DuBois, Hulda Slaysman of Baltimore and Mrs.
Don (Jean) Bish of Schertz, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and  Arnold Bowser;
and a sister, Gertrude Bowser.

Friends of Walter "Johnny" Bowser, 83, of Kittanning RD4, who died Wednesday,
Aug. 3, 1999, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the F.
Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 424 Bear Street, Worthington. Additional visitation
will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11
a.m. at the Franklin Union Baptist Church with the Rev. George Hall officiating.


Interment will be in Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
