Millard Fillmore Bowser SR

Millard Fillmore "Skelly" Bowser Sr., 70, of 230 Greens Branch Lane, Smyrna,
Del., died Thursday, January 21, 1988, at Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del.

He was born in West-Franklin Township (Armstrong County) Worthington, Pa., March
3, 1916, the son of Stanley M. and Sarah P. (Booher) Bowser.

He graduated as an honor student in 1934 from Worthington-West Franklin High
School, Worthington, Pa.

He was a motorman for U.S. Steel Company in Kittanning, Pa., for 20 years before
moving to Delaware. He retired in 1978 as a prison guard from the Delaware
Correctional Center after 17 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Evangeline S. Bowser of Smyrna; one son, Millard
Fillmore Bowser Jr., of Smyrna; four daughters, Margaret Evans of New Castle,
Del., Patricia Cypher of Worthington, and Julie and Barbara Bowser, both of
Smryna.; one brother, William Ellsworth Bowser of Smyrna; two sisters, Mabel K.
Scanlon of Kittanning and Gladys M. Kilgore of Punxsutawney, Pa.; 10
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Maude I. Bundy.

Funeral services for Millard F. "Skelly" Bowser Sr., 70, of 230 Greens Branch
Lane, Smyrna, Del., who died Thursday, January 21, 1988, will be held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, January 24, 1988, at the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street,
Smyrna, Del., where friends will be received one hour prior to funeral
services.

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna, De.
