Edwin William Claypoole

Edwin William Claypoole, 79, of Glade Park East, Kittanning, died Sunday, June
27, 1993, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

Born October 21, 1913, in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, he was the
son of Thomas and Ella Belle (Hamilton) Claypoole.

He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Kittanning, where he had been an
elder and a session member. He also belonged to Kittanning Elks Lodge 203.

Mr. Claypoole was a member of the first graduating class of the Worthington-West
Franklin High School in 1933. He was also an alumnus of the then Slippery Rock
College.

He had taught in the Armstrong School District for nine years and was the
co-founder and former owner of Clay-Wood Lumber in West Kittanning.

Surviving are a son, Jack W. Claypoole of Kittanning; a daughter, Mrs. James
(Joline) McClure of Butler; a brother, Walter Hamilton Claypoole of Kittanning
R.D. 3; a sister, Mrs Elmer (Annabelle) Snyder of Cowansville; three
grandchildren; a step-grandson; and two step-great-grandchildren.

His wife, Janet (Heilman) Claypoole died in 1986. He was also preceded in death
by a son; infant brother, Thomas Jr. and a brother, O. Norman Claypoole.

Friends of Edwin William Claypoole of Glade Run East, Kittanning, who died
Sunday, June 27, 1993, will be received at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200
S. McKean St., Kittanning, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday and from 12:30 to 1:30
p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from the
funeral home with the Rev. Dana Opp, associate pastor of Grace Presbyterian
Church, officiating. 

Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Grace
Presbyterian Church.
