Dorothy Anna Mae Claypoole Claypoole

Dorothy Anna Mae Claypoole Claypoole, 86, of Worthington, R.D. 1, Pa. died
Sunday, September 16, 2001, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital following a
brief illness.

Born July 19, 1915, in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, she was the
daughter of Charles and Annie Bouch (Bowser) Claypoole.

She was the West Franklin Township tax collector for 24 years and owned and
operated Claypoole's Limespreading in Worthington.

She graduated with the first graduating (Class of 1933) from Worthington-West
Franklin High School, Worthington,Pa.

She was a life member of the Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington, where
she was the church pianist for 73 years. She also belonged to the Women's
Mission Society and was a Sunday School Teacher.

Mrs. Claypoole belonged to the Republican Women of Armstrong County and was a
life member of the West Franklin Kaylor Grange.

She enjoyed church music, quilting and gardening.

She is survived by a son, Dwight Jerry Claypoole of Worthington; a daughter, Mrs
Richard (Charlene Mae) Perine of Worthington; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall H.Claypoole, who died April 6,
1952; six brothers, Clark Robert Claypoole, Warren Valentine Claypoole, William
Harvey Claypoole, Vernon Roy Claypoole, Merle Glenford Claypoole, Floyd Ernest
Claypoole; and three sisters, Ruth Weldon, Grace Hill, Essie June Leard.

Friends of Dorothy Anna Mae Claypoole, who died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, will be
received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the F.
Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington. A reception also will be
held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Franklin Union Baptist Church in
Worthington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. 

Burial will be held in Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Union
Baptist Church, Drawer E, Worthington, Pa. 16262.
