Annabelle nmn Claypoole Snyder

Annabelle nmn (Claypoole) Snyder, 89, of Cowansville, Pa., died Friday, May 5,
2006, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries Nursing Home, surrounded by family
members.

She was born September 14, 1916 in West Franklin Township (Armstrong County,
Pa.) to Thomas and Ella Belle (Hamilton) Claypoole.

She was a 1933 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. She went on to attend Slippery Rock University (Slippery Rock, Pa),
graduating in 1935 with a two year teaching degree. After teaching geography and
art at Worthington High School for seven years, she returned to Slippery Rock
University, graduating in 1946 with a bachelor of science degree in education.

She was a lifelong resident of the community.

She was a long-standing member of Union First Presbyterian Church of
Cowansville, Pa., serving as one of the earliest woman elders of the church. She
also taught Adult Sunday School for more than 25 years and was the director of
the Summer Bible School program. She was a member of Union First Presbyterian
Church Golden Links, as well as a member of the Presbyterian Women and served as
a Circle Leader.

She was active in community services for many years, serving as Den Mother of
Pack 673 of Cowansville, the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary,
Kittanning, Pa. and the May Melody Committee, where she served as chairperson
for several years.

She was a shareholder and director of Georgian Manor of Natrona Heights,
Harrison Township, Pa.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed
playing bridge and 500, golfing, painting, traveling, gardening, and spending
winters in Florida with her husband.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Elmer A. Snyder, whom she
married June 7, 1941; three sons, Thomas C. Snyder and wife, Debra, of
Cowansville, David E. Snyder and wife Sandra, and Mark A. Snyder and wife
Carolyn, all of Kittanning; 10 grandchildren, Bryan Snyder and wife Renee, of
Bradford, Pa., Rebekah Starr and husband Mike of Kittanning, Anne Snyder, of
Denver, Colo., Benjamin, Michael and Marsha Snyder, all of Kittanning, Kelly
Snyder, of Naples, Fla., and Andrew, Gretchen and Alisha Snyder, of Kittanning;
and four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Skylar, Brayden and Alexis Snyder, all of
Bradford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Edwin William
Claypoole, Walter Hamilton Claypoole, Orie Norman Claypoole and infant brother,
Thomas Claypoole, Jr.

Friends of Annabelle C. Snyder will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Union First Presbyterian Church of Cowansville,
where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2006 with her
pastor, the Rev. Mary Marks King, officiating.

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
