Narcissus T Chioldi
Narcissus T. "Nancy" Chioldi, 85, of Montclair, N.J., formerly of Vandergrift,
passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, in Gates Manor Nursing Home, Montclair.
Born November 2, 1929, in Vandergrift, she was the daughter of the late Dominick
and Mamie (Cuffia) Trentin.
Nancy lived in Vandergrift until 1962 and was a 1947 graduate of Vandergrift
High School, and received her Bachelor's Degree in education from Duquesne
University in 1951.
He was part of the faculty of Worthington-West Franklin High School for the
1952-1953 school year.
She worked as a teacher in Freeport from 1953-1961, and considered those years
the happiest of her career. Nancy continued teaching in Ohio for 25 years,
retiring in 1988.
Nancy was a former member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift,
and St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
She was also a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, American
Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mario Frank Chioldi; son, Mario T.
(Kanna) Chioldi, of New York, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Renzo and Mina Chioldi.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, in the
BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 429 Franklin Ave.,
Vandergrift. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday
in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift, with Father James Loew, OSB,
as celebrant.
