Helen Elizabeth (Wylie) Smith, 91, of Harbor Oaks Personal Care Home,
Worthington, Pa., died Saturday, September 22, 2001 at the personal care home.
Helen lived in Worthington before entering Harbor Oaks Personal Care Home.
 
She was born October 1, 1909 on the family farm in East Franklin Township
(Armstrong Co.) to James Boyd and Luella (Hindman) Wylie.
 
Mrs. Smith was a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church.
 
Her other memberships included the Rebekah Lodge, Sarver Choir, Kittanning
Kitchen Band, Worthington Senior Center and Kittanning American Legion
Auxiliary, Kittanning, Pa., where she served as past president.
 
Her hobbies were reading, quilting and watching television game shows.
 
Survivors include three sons, Arthur B. Smith of Glendale, Ariz., David Paul
Smith of Kittanning and Edward Wylie Smith of New Cumberland, Pa.; one daughter,
Dorothy "Esther" Maycock of Worthington; 11 grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband David T. Smith, who died in 1996; two
brothers, Harry Wylie and James "Bud" Wylie; and two sisters, Dorothy McCandless
and Pearl Wylie.
 
Friends of Helen Elizabeth (Wylie) Smith, 91, of Harbor Oaks Personal Care Home,
Worthington, formerly of Worthington, Pa., who died Sept 22, 2001, will be
received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the F.
Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Worthington, Pa. Additional visitation will be held
from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at
Worthington Presbyterian Church with her pastor, the Rev. Jonathan Speck,
officiating.
 
Interment will be in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
