Edward David Schaffer
Edward David "Jake" Schaffer, M.D., 88, of Atlantic Beach, died January 16,
2004.
He was born May 31, 1915 in Bath, PA a son of John H. and Elizabeth B.
Schaffer.
Prior to moving from from Orlando to Atlantic Beach, he had a practice in
Worthington, Pa., whree he was also the school physician.
Jake was a registered Pathologist, a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and
proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne.
Family members include his wife of 56 years, Beatrice J. Schaffer; daughter,
Susan Elizabeth Schaffer of Harlingen, TX, and sister, Elizabeth Schaffer of
Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Florence and
Elizabeth Bellinger and brothers Aaron, James, Richard and Elwood.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the Community Hospice of
Northeast Florida.
