William Paul Benton

William "Paul" Benton Sr., 71, of 549 S. Scenic Dr., Sarver, Pa., formerly of
Worthington, Pa., died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, February 11, 1974 at Armstrong
County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township, Kittanning, Pa.
 
Born June 28, 1902 at Worthington, he was the son of Alvin "Merle" and Mary E.
(Geary) Benton.
 
He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington.
 
He retired from Armstrong School District as the custodian in Worthington
Schools.
 
He was a member of B.P.O.E. No. 203 of Kittanning.
 
Survivors include his wife, Frances Mary (Welton) Benton; two sons, Emerson
Leroy Benton of RD 2, Darlington, Pa. and William Paul Benton, Jr., of Holt,
Mich.; two daughters, Jean Elizabeth (Donald Eugene) Foringer of 865 Freeport
Rd., Freeport, Pa., and Miss Ila Yvonne Benton of Harrisburg, Pa.; one brother,
Herbert L. Benton of Cowansville, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Grace E. Hardcastle of
Cobourg, Canada; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Viola.
 
Friends of William "Paul" Benton, who died Feb. 11, 1974, will be received at
the James A. Flick Funeral Home, Worthington, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Mon.
Feb.11 and after 3:30 p.m. Tues., Feb. 12.
 
Friends will be received Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1974, at the Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Worthington from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., with
the Rev. Charles Stadler, church pastor, officiating.
 
Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Township,
Worthington, Pa.
