Robert Thomas Adams

Robert Thomas Adams, 86, of Grove City, Pine Township, Mercer County, formerly
of Leesburg, Fla., died Monday, March 5, 2007, in Grove City Medical Center,
after being ill for three weeks. 

He was born May 27, 1920, in Butler, a son of the late Samuel Ray and Pearl
Myrtle (Sutton) Adams. 

He retired as principal from Worthington High School in 1976, was former
assistant principal at Kittanning High School and was a former teacher at Ford
City High School. 

He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Fla., attended Fairview
Presbyterian Church, Fairview, Butler County, and also was a member of the
Saddle Club and Tennessee Walkers. 

Mr. Adams was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, he received
his bachelor's degree from California University of Pennsylvania and his
master's from the University of Pittsburgh. 

He is survived by his children, David Adams and wife, Susan, of Grove City,
Daniel Allen Adams and wife, Susan, of Lanse, and Heather Ann Thames and
husband, Michael, of Collegeville; two brothers, Glenn C. Adams and wife,
Bonnie, of Harrisville, and Dean R. Adams and wife, Mary, of Karns City; and six
grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth
(Smith) Adams, in August 2000; and a sister, Anna Adams. 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL
HOME INC., Grove City, where services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday with the
Rev. Richard Rowe, retired pastor of Fairview Presbyterian Church, officiating.


Interment in Concord Cemetery, Concord Township, Butler County, Hooker, Pa.
