Charles Taylor Schlotter

The Rev. Charles Taylor Schlotter, 67, of Zelienople, Pa. retired chaplain of
Zelienople Lutheran Old Peoples Home (Passavant Health Center) died at the
Ellwood City, Pa. Hospital last night, Friday, October 21, 1977.
 
His wife, Gertrude Elizabeth Schlotter, died Monday, October 17, 1977 was buried
at noon on Fri., October 21, 1977.
 
Mr. Schlotter was a graduate of Thiel College, Greenville, Pa and Philadelphia
Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa. He was ordained to the Lutheran ministry on Oct. 23,
1936.
 
He had served churches in Grove Chapel, Worthington, Youngwood, and at First
Church, Vandergrift, all in Pa. before becoming chaplain at the Zelienople home.


While in Worthington, during 1944, he taught school at Worthington-West Franklin
High School.
 
Born in Westmoreland County, he was the son of the late John and Live (Dry)
Schlotter.
 
Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Robert Schlotter of Youngstown, Pa. and John
Schlotter of RD 1, Clarendon, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Carole) Launer of
Zelienople, and Mrs. Robert (Kathe) Townsey of Harmony, Pa.; seven
grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Ramsden of Uniontown, Pa.
 
Friends of the Rev. Charles t. Schlotter of Zelienople, who died Friday, Oct.
21, 1977, will be received at the Ziegler Funeral Home, Zelienople, from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday from the English Lutheran Church, Zelienople, with the Rev. Kenneth R.
May, president of the Lutheran Synod, officiating.
 
Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Adamsburg (Westmoreland County), Pa.
