June Wineman Cooper

June Wineman Cooper, 89, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016,
at Redstone Highlands. 

She was born June 2, 1927, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Jacob W. and
Grace M. (Holtzer) Wineman. 

June was a lifelong member of the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Greensburg. 

Being an avid bridge player, she enjoyed playing with her College Club and
through the YWCA. 

She was valedictorian of her class at Greensburg Salem High School and went on
to graduate from Thiel College in Greenville. 

Prior to retirement, June was Chairman of the English Department and a teacher
at Greensburg Salem Junior High School.

She was part of the faculty of Worthington-West Franklin High School for the
1949-1950 school year. 

Some of her proudest moments were running into her former students. 

Surviving are her daughter, Candy Patteson and husband, Steve, of Endicott,
N.Y.; son, Coby Cooper and wife, Deana, of Champagne, Ill.; her beloved
grandchildren, Ian Patteson, of Denver, Colo., Colin Patteson, of Endicott,
N.Y., Kenzie Babbs and husband, Kellan, of Grays Lake, Ill., and Kylie Cooper,
of Champagne, Ill.; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Thompson, Janet Cooper,
Robert and wife, Jo-Anne Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L.
Cooper; and brother, Jacob Wineman Jr.  

Honoring June's wishes, all services will be private. 

Interment took place in Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg, Pa.
