Ruth Bowser Roland

Ruth E. Lockhart Roland, 67, of Ford Cliff, went to be with her Lord and Savior
Jesus on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at a friend's home in Rimersburg. 

She was born August 11, 1948, in Kittanning, a daughter of the late William
Lockhart and Elsie (Beck) Lockhart, and was a lifetime resident of Ford Cliff
and Ford City. 

She lived her life for others and truly was a Proverbs 31 Wife to her husband of
18 years, Joel E. Roland, of Ford Cliff. 

Ruth taught Spanish, English, Bible and piano for more than 30 years. 

She also worked as a clerk at Foodland in Kittanning. 

A member of Greater Works Outreach, Monroeville, she pioneered a mission base in
Panama for YWAM, working 11 years as a missionary there. 

For the past five years, she and her husband have been missionaries in Costa
Rica, feeding and clothing the needy and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

She was a kind, loving and self-sacrificing giver. She was loved by so many. She
was a godly woman of rare caliber and will be remembered as a very sweet,
caring, loving, tenderhearted woman of God. 

In addition to her husband, survivors include her sister, Virginia Pontremoli,
of Cleveland, Ohio, and nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the KENNEDY and
BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor
Gerard Amoroso officiating. 

Interment in Ford City Cemetery, Ford City, Pa.
