Mildred Ozelma Stockdale
 
Mildred Ozelma (Bowser) Stockdale, 93, of Dayton, Pa., died Thursday, September
14, 2000 at the Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning, Pa.
 
She was born November 26, 1906 in Wayne Township (Armstrong Co.) near Dayton to
Charles C. and Minnie Pearle (Bowser) Stockdale.
 
She was a school teacher, retiring after 39 years of service in the
Punxsutawney, Pa., Ford City, Pa., Worthington, Pa., and (North Washington)
Apollo, Pa. school districts.

She was part of the faculty of Worthington-West Franklin High School from the
1936-1937 through the 1941-1942 school years.
 
She was a member of the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church where she was a
Sunday school teacher for more than 56 years.
 
Her other memberships included the Dayton Grange, the National Education
Association, the Dayton Senior Citizens, the Dayton Doers and the Dayton
Historical Society.
 
Survivors include her great nephew and niece, Rick and Sherry Stockdale of
Dayton, who cared for her in her later years.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive parents, John P. and Edna
(Cochran) Stockdale; a brother, Arthur Leroy Stockdale; an infant brother Clair
W. Stockdale; and two half-brothers, Earl Howard Stockdale and Robert Blaine
Stockdale.
 
Friends of Mildred Ozelma (Bowser) Stockdale, 93, of Dayton, Pa., who  died
Thursday, Sept 14, 2000, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the
Bauer-Bly Funeral Home 125 E. Main St., Dayton. Funeral services will be held at
1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, with the Rev.
T.R.R. Stull and Rev. Dr. Donald Rising, officiating.
 
Interment will be in Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery, Wayne Township, Dayton,
Pa.
 
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian
Church.
