Gene Arthur Pasekoff

Gene Arthur Pasekoff, formerly of Kittanning, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at
Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. 

Dr. Pasekoff was born August 25, 1933, in Wilkinsburg.

He attended Peabody High School, and earned his degree from the University of
Pittsburgh after serving in the Army. He taught science in the Pittsburgh Public
Schools, including Oliver High School in the 1960s and continued his education,
earning his Ph.D. in education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978. 

He married Doretta Brown on July 12, 1958, in Mt. Pleasant. He moved into
administration, becoming principal of Kittanning, Worthington and East Brady
High Schools, all in the Armstrong School District. 

His interests included photography, woodworking, jewelry creation and writing.
He developed his own film, printed his own pictures and built his own furniture.


He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his brother, Robert. 

He is survived by his wife, Doretta; son, David; and grandson, Christopher, of
Kittanning; daughter, Dorene, of Phoenixville; as well as his sister, Shirley;
and brother, Ronald, of Pittsburgh. 

Burial was held Friday at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa.
