Bernard A Moreau

Dr. Bernard A. Moreau, 72, of Homer City, passed away peacefully Thursday,
October 14, 2010, surrounded by his family. 

Bernie graduated from Indiana University of Pa. in 1960, with a Bachelor of
Science degree specializing in business education. 

Upon graduation, Bernie was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army.
Bernie and Bonnie were stationed at Ft. Rutger, Ala., where Bernie achieved the
rank of First Lieutenant as a quartermaster officer. 

Following his military service, Bernie pursued his college education by becoming
a business teacher at Worthington High School from 1963 to 1967. Bernie was then
selected to teach as an associate professor at Indiana University of Pa.'s,
Kittanning branch campus. While teaching in Kittanning, Bernie obtained his
Ph.D. of business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1979,
Bernie was promoted to IUP's main campus, where he was a professor, department
head and interim dean of the Eberly School of Business for 35 years. 

While at Indiana University of Pa., Bernie was active with Future Business
Leaders of America, where he was president in 1989 and the Pa. Business
Education Association. 

Bernie volunteered his time with numerous organizations including Visiting
Nurses Association (Hospice) (Board member), Indiana County Ostomy Club, AARP,
where he volunteered 10 years providing free tax services. 

Bernie was a member of the Indiana Model Railroad Club and Penn State's Master
Gardener's Club, where he hosted numerous Hypertufa workshops at his home. 

Bernie was a member of St. Thomas More Parish, served as usher. Bernie's hobbies
included model trains, gardening, landscaping and home improvement projects. He
and Bonnie also enjoyed traveling abroad and within the United States with
friends and family.


Bernie was preceded in death by his father, Albert F. Moreau; and mother, Denela
(Longwell). 

Bernie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie F. Moreau; son, Chris Moreau,
of Houston, Texas; daughter, Melissa (Bruce) Aungst, of State College; son,
Timothy (Cheri) Moreau, of Greensburg; three grandsons, Cameron, Maverick and
Noah; also surviving are two brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Moreau, of Murrysville,
and William (Mary K.) Moreau, of Indiana; two sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Radcliff, of
London, Ohio, and Cathy (DeWayne) Renwick, of Indiana; and numerous cousins,
nieces and nephews.  

Viewings will be held at 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in BOWSER MINICH FUNERAL
HOME, with a funeral Mass held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas More, with a
brief viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. 

Interment will follow directly at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Indiana, Pa., for
family and close friends. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Thomas More
University Parish, 1200 Oakland Ave., Indiana, PA 15701.
