Irene Coven Millen

Irene C. Coven-Millen, of Cowansville RD 1, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, in
the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning. 

She was born in Webster, Pa., on April 22, 1923, a daughter of William H. and
Bessie May (Robison) Curnow. 

Before her retirement, Mrs. Coven- Millen had taught at Worthington High School,
1946-1947 through 1949-1950 school years and worked as guidance counselor at
East Brady High School. 

She was a member of Sherrett United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern
Star, Delta Kappa Gamma's Teaching Society and the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers
Association. 

Survivors include two sons, Dale Lloyd Coven, of Cowansviile RD 1, and Don Robin
Coven, Cowansviile RD 1; a stepdaughter, Mrs. George (Donna) Gilliam, of South
Park; her ' husband, Robert Kenneth Millen; six grandchildren: Jamie Coven,
Jessie Coven, Cody Coven, Chelsey Coven, Leslie Coven and Kara Coven; a step-
grandson, Derrick Gilliam; and a brother, William Curnow, of Philadelphia. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald D. Coven, in
1955; four brothers: John Lloyd Curnow, Marion Everett Curnow, James Howard
Curnow and Jesse Winston Curnow; and a sister, Dorothy Frances Curnow. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Snyder-
Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at
the funeral home. The Rev. John James of the Sherrett United Methodist Church
will officiate. 

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, worthington, Pa.
