Delbert Baker JR

Delbert Baker Jr., 93, of West Kittanning, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, in
Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. 

He was born June 1, 1918, in Adrian, a son of the late Delbert Baker Sr. and
Phenomenal (Silvis) Baker. 

He was an English teacher for 41 years in the Armstrong School District and a
member of Grace Brethren Church in West Kittanning.

He was a part of the faculty of Worthington-West Franklin High School for the
1947-1948 school year. 

He enjoyed music, singing and poetry and had one book of poetry published. 

Survivors include his sisters, Beatrice (Carl) Richey, of West Kittanning,
Gretchen (Jerry) Bull, of Florida, and Genevieve (Bud) Smith, of West
Kittanning. He was very good to his nieces and nephews, especially his
grandniece, Ellie Dragan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Bill Smith,
Robert and Dave Baker, Greg Mohney, Terry (Mohney) Barker, Sue (Richey)
Batchelor, Sally (Richey) Dragan, Renee (Richey) Cowan and Lisa (Richey) Bauer.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George and
Stan Baker; and sisters, Delores Mohney, Judy Greer and Esther Baker. 

Per Delbert's wishes, private family viewing and services were held Thursday at
SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Ron Jurke. 

Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
