William Roy Armstrong

William Roy Armstrong, 88, formerly of Kittanning, died Thursday, February 18,
1999, at The Glen at Willow Valley, 675 Willow Valley  Square, Lancaster, Pa.,
of natural causes.

Born March 25, 1910, in East Franklin Township, he was the son of James and Cora
Alice (Wylie) Armstrong.

Roy was a graduate from Geneva Teachers College, Beaver Falls, Pa.

He was a part of the faculty of Worthington-West Franklin High School for the
1944-1945, 1945-1946. 1946-1947 and 1947-1948 school years. 

He was a retired assistant county controller of Armstrong County.

He was an active member of the West Glade Run Presbyterian Church, Kittanning,
where he had been an elder and a former church treasurer.

He was a Red Coat volunteer at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are two sons, James of Lancaster, Reid of Fallbrook, Ca., and Jane,
wife of Bruce Smith of St. Louis and three grandchildren.

In addition to is parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ruth A., in 1997, and
a sister, Anna Mildred.

Burial in West Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery, Armstrong County, Pa.
